The Patasala which was initiated and started by great 42nd pontiff of Ahobila mutt Sri Ranga Sri Sadagopa Yatindra Maha Desikan familiarly known as Enjimedu Azhagiyasingar from 6th class to Nyaya Siromani (Tarka Shastra) which is equivalent to M.A for 13 years of tutelage and continuous guidance under  great scholars like Nyaya Vedenta Vavadhuka  Sri U.Ve. Villivanam Narayanachariar Swami, Sri U.Ve. Sampat Kumara Varadachariar Swami, Sri U.Ve.A.S.Krishnamachar Swami and Haasya Kavi Sri U.Ve.Padur Raghavachariar Swami. With blessings of all these scholars he attained rich knowledge.

  • After finishing his graduation he joined in the Yerpedu Venkateshwara Oriental High school which was established by Vaysa Ashrama Malayala Swami and worked for a period of 5 years (1965 to 1970). During this time he was able to complete the Siksha Sastri (equivalent B.Ed). Since Childhood he has a habit of reciting Perumal Stotrams which is acquainted from his grandfather. In the school he stood among one of the first best teachers and also awarded as “First grade Pandit” in Nyaya (Tarka Shastra).

  • In the year 1970, he was appointed as lecturer in Nyaya at Sri Venkateswara Oriental College (SVOC), Tirupati which has a great history. The college was established by Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD). He rendered his service in TTD for 32 years till retirement. In the same year he got married to Vanaja who is daughter of great scholar Sri U.Ve.Khoziyalam Sadagopachariar who mastered and obtained Siromani in Nyaya Sastra, Mimamsa Sastra and Vedanta Sastra and Mother’s Name is Pattu Singaraammal who is also from a prestigious family in Navalpakkam.

  • Swami also mastered Ubaya Vendanta i.e., Vedanta Sutras and Bhagavad Vishayam. He learnt all Vedanta Granthas (Srimad Rahasytraya Saram, Sri Bashyam and Gita Bashyam) from Vyakarana Kovida, Vishishtadvaita Kovida Sri U.Ve.Tiruvahindrapuram P. Rajagopalachariar swami who also worked as a lecturer in the Oriental college. He learnt Nalariya Divya Prabandham from Sri U.Ve.Kamarajapuram Seshadri achariar Swami for a period of four years.

He also actively participates in utsavams (monthly Thirunakshatram and Yearly utsavam) at Swami Desikan Temple in Tirupathi. He performs all Nitya Karmanustanams religiously and studies Srimad Ramayanam and Sri Bashyam everyday.

  • He attends many Vidavat Sadas on Sri Bashyam conducted by various mutts viz. Srimad Andavan Ashramam, Ahobilam Mattam, Nadadoor Ammal Sadas on yearly basis.

  • In 1993, he got deputed to Hyderabad in Sri Venkateshwara Vedanta Vardini Sasmkrutha Kalasala College (SVVS) at New Bowenpally which is also established by TTD.  During this period there was great Vasihnava Samurudhi in Bhagyanagaram (Hyderabad). He resided at Venkatapuram which again is named after his beloved Lord Sri Venkateshwara. Every movement starts with a single step and like that in October 1993, a small group of Sri Vaishnavas who were interested to learn Stotrams lead by Sri.U.Ve.Ellangadu E.R.Santhanam Iyenger Swami (Retd.auditor in defence accounts dept) who started learning Stotras of our great Sri Vaishnava Aacharyas - mainly Swami Vedanta Desikan. The small group learnt all the StrotraPatams, Gadyatrayam, Alavandar Strotram, and Panchastavam. Then it was a small seedling now it has become a banyan tree viz., SWAMI DHESIKAN STOTRA PAATA GHOSTHI Bhagyanagaram. He also went on pilgrimages with disciples to Divyadesams like Ahobilam, Bhadrachalam, Yadagirigutta, Edulabad etc. During the tours we had a chance to listen to various pastimes of Lord, mainly from Ramayana.

  • In Alwal, there is Sri Venkateshwara Temple which has a glorious history and has been worshiped by many people. During swami’s stay at Venkatapuram, the temple was undergoing renovation work and all of a sudden at one point renovation work stopped abruptly. One day a flash of thought has struck to swami that we must recite Swami Desikan’s Dayashatakam on Saturdays at this temple. All the aastikas started reciting   Dayashatakam without fail on every Saturday at the temple (which is followed even today).  One day, the priest in the temple Sri U.Ve. Raghavachariar swami asked swami to recite Sri Valmiki Ramayana at temple on every Saturday. He accepted it and started reciting Ramayana. He also taught us the meanings of several verses in Ramayana. It went without any hindrance for 2 years. During this period again the temple trustees had united again and completed the renovation work.

SRI U.Ve.PRANATHARTHIHARAN SVAAMI & SMT Vanaja
  • In the year 1998, swami was deputed back to Tirupathi to work in SVOC. But, this was sad and indigestible news for Aasthikaas of Bhagyanagaram and even for swami also.  After his departure to Tirupathi, the Stotrapaata Ghoshti is going on till date with the blessings of Aacharyas, headed by Sri Desika Vaangmaya Prachaara Dhurandharaha Sri U.Ve.E.S.MUKUNDAN Swami to spread Swami Desikan’s stotras in bhagyanagaram by conducting several camps, goshtees and competitions.

  • After his return to Tirupathi, and after retirement from services, he continues to teach Sasmkrutham, Stotrams and Prabhandhams at Srirangam Srimad Andavan Patasala in Tiruchanoor. He has accepted the order from His Holiness Srimad Srirangam Sri Ranga Ramanuja Maha Desikan to teach at above Patasala around seventy students. He also teaches Kaalakshepam on Vedanta Granthas to his disciples.

  • In 2009, the current pontiff of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam HH Sri Ranga Ramanuja Maha Desikan (Sri Mooshanam Aandavan) honored Swami with title “Naya Bhasakraha”. Swami is also gives discourses on various topics on our Glorious Sampradaya at many places in Hyderabad, Tirupathi. He is ever ready and happy teach his favorite Grantha - Srimad Valmiki Ramayana. He’s a staunch devotee of Lord Sri Venkateshwara. As an Aacharyan he is very easily approachable and always eager to impart Vedic knowledge to his sishyas.

  • The Goshtee started by him has grown in leaps and bounds mainly due to the continuous efforts put by Smt Anasuya Santhanam, Sri Nadadhoor V.Kannan, Sri K.S.Seshadri, and Sri S.Srinivasan. . Etc...Even today one can find around 100 students learning Swami Dhesikan Stotrams at SriAlwal Balaji Temple (irrespective of caste or creed or religion) , every Sunday between 08:30am and 10:30am.

  • Many competitions have been conducted. Around 52 camps and 6 residential camps have been conducted so far. The camps are being run by a team of disciples of Sri E.S.Mukundan successfully all these years. In May 2010 Sri E.S.Mukundan took a team of his students to Mumbai and trained many students in Swami Dhesikan Stotrams, Bhajans etc. These activities speak volumes of the hard work put in by Sri U.Ve.P.V.PRANTHAARTHIHARAN Swami, our most beloved founder.
